One of the most frequently asked questions I hear is, “What do I wear for my boudoir photoshoot? And do I have to wear lingerie for my boudoir photoshoot?”
The quick answer is, “Yes! Absolutely!”
Boudoir isn’t just about what you’re wearing
Boudoir photography is not about what you wear or don’t wear. It’s about being vulnerable in front of our lens so we can authentically tell your story in portraits with our expertise in posing, lighting, and styling. That means it really doesn’t matter to us if you wear only lingerie pieces for all of your wardrobe choices, or if you don’t wear a single piece of lingerie! So, to answer your question, no, you don’t have to wear lingerie for your boudoir photoshoot.
Once you reserve a signature beauty and boudoir photoshoot experience with us, we send you our style guide and schedule phone consults to help guide you from start to finish with what to wear, based on how you want to feel when you see your images.
The studio’s client closet is filled with hundreds of garments, shoes, and accessories. Here is a list of some of my favorite stores I have shopped from to add to the studio closet are: Oh la la Cheri , Shein, and Yandy. View many of the client closet pieces being worn in our galleries.
Every client unique and it’s our job to tell their story in a creative, authentic manner. For example, some clients recently came out of a bad relationship where their power was taken away and they wanted to see themselves as confident, powerful women in their boudoir photos. In contrast, some clients have served several tours in the military and just want to feel feminine!
Based on those two examples, the clients are styled, posed, and lit differently to either show power and confidence or an abundance of divine, feminine energy!
