95% of my Tampa boudoir photography clients come to me for their first professional photoshoot outside of high school graduation or their wedding, so it makes perfect sense that they are nervous and unsure of what to expect. This particular client was no different and her story is probably a lot like yours.
When Ms. D. and I spoke on the phone for our consultation call she relayed that she was at a point in her life where she felt like it was finally time to do something beautiful just for herself and thought a boudoir photography session would be perfect! She spent the previous 20+ years raising her daughter who is now getting ready to be married and she also spent those years putting energy in relationships, careers, etc. and it was now finally “her time”.
I think a lot of us can relate to how she felt. We spend years, if not decades, serving our bosses, our families, our partners, and we, as women, tend to put ourselves last. While it’s a beautiful thing to be a giving person, it’s also important to recognize that we cannot fully give to others if our cup is empty. It’s important to do something special for ourselves every once in a while because we matter, too. Read below to see this client’s feedback in her own words.

“Last week I did a thing. A thing I had never imagined myself doing. A thing that was further from my comfort zone than anything I have ever done, and probably the most amazingly empowering thing I’ve ever done!
If you’ve ever even considered a session, call and chat with Jill. What a phenomenal human being! In the afternoon I spent with her, I was moved to tears, laughed SO hard, and just felt so at ease and for ONCE…a little comfortable in my own skin. I think we tend to be a bit tough on ourselves sometimes, and may not necessarily see ourselves the way others do. Jill helped me see myself in a completely different light, and I love the me that I see!
At a time when I needed it, even more than I knew, I made an investment in myself unlike any that I’ve ever made, but it was definitely worth it! I urge each of you, if you have the opportunity, to gift yourself with this experience. You will have a FANTASTIC time, and you will not be sorry!”
Ms. D. and I had so much fun during her photoshoot! We paired some of our studio wardrobe pieces with items she brought in to create a set of portraits that truly reflected the side of her she was ready to see and celebrate and had so much fun creating these portraits together!
